Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Abilene, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,254 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/30/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Current Registered Nurse license required Certifications: - ACLS - AWHONN Intermediate - BLS - NRP Must-Have: - Previous charge experience (minimum 1 year) - Experience with patient ratios of 2:1 - Community hospital experience required - Travel experience preferred Description: May be asked to float to other floors and campuses. Must live more than 150 miles from the facility. Flexibility is required. The following skills are needed: - Spiral electrode placement - Administering insulin drips - Scrubbing for cesarean sections - Labor and delivery assistance - Assisting with sterile speculum exams (effacement, dilation, station, presentation) - Conducting non-stress tests (NST) - Performing reflex checks, edema assessments, and clonus evaluations - Conducting sterile vaginal exams - Triage of obstetrical patients - Utilizing external fetal monitoring (EFM) - Performing internal fetal monitoring - Placing and calibrating intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC) - Recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns - Administering blood and blood products - Drawing venous blood - Starting and maintaining IVs - Using infusion pumps and monitoring IV therapy - Administering anticoagulation therapy and antiseizure medications - Administering antihypertensives and magnesium sulfate therapy - Using medications such as Pitocin (oxytocin), prostaglandins, and terbutaline - Performing amnioinfusion - Assisting with high-risk deliveries - Assisting with vaginal deliveries - Circulating for cesarean sections - Performing forceps and vacuum extractions - Managing hemorrhage and shock - Recovering from cesarean sections - Providing pain assessment and management Candidate must be available to complete necessary lab items within 72 hours of accepting the position. Charting experience with preferred systems is advantageous. Modules may need to be completed during the orientation period.
