Description:PRN; all shiftsHistory:Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years, but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20, and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:The Registered Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiology procedures in accordance to clinicians orders, exam protocols and instructions. The technologist is to instruct the patient regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results. They are to assess and interpret data on patients. They will identify patient requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provide care as stipulated in the departmental policy. Radiology Technologist are to follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment, maintain all equipment in appropriate operating condition and maintain examination rooms and work areas keeping all necessary items stocked. They should monitor radiology procedures and exams and provide quality imaging. They will provide all services needed for their patient while maintaining a positive patient relation atmosphere. The technologist should maintain accurate department records, reports and files as directed. They should also follow HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. As a member of the Radiology care team, the technologist works collaboratively with the other members of their department, clinicians and other department personnel to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. They will follow aseptic procedures and precautions when involved in direct patient contact or handling potentially infectious material. They will follow safety and infection control guidelines and policies established by the hospital. In addition, the technologist performs a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs as assigned.Requirements:Education:Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.Licenses/Certificates:Licensed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, ARRT registration.Licensed by the Texas Medical Board, MRT registration.CPR certification for Health Care Providers.Experience:Experience a plus, basic knowledge of all radiologic equipment.
