Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/14/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery | Travel Job Details: Shift Type: Days (3x12-hour shifts) Shift Times: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Weekend Requirements: 13 shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) On-Call Requirements: Yes Float Requirements: Must be flexible to float to other floors or campus Job Description: Abilene's Labor & Delivery Recovery Room is seeking an experienced L&D RN to provide comprehensive nursing care for high-risk antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum patients. Nurses will manage emergency deliveries, fetal monitoring, neonatal assessments, and post-delivery care . Submission Requirements: Minimum Experience: 3 years in L&D preferred First-Time Travelers: Accepted Certifications: BLS – REQUIRED ACLS – REQUIRED NRP – REQUIRED AWHONN – REQUIRED (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Preferred) Key Responsibilities & Skills: Labor & Delivery Management Assist with high-risk deliveries Circulate for C-sections Recover C-section patients Triage obstetrical patients Fetal monitoring: External, internal, spiral electrode placement Pain Management: Epidural anesthesia, IV sedation, PCA Neonatal & Postpartum Care Perform APGAR scoring Assist with cord blood collection Educate parents on infant care & discharge procedures Phototherapy & neonatal hypoglycemia management Breastfeeding & lactation support Facility & Department Details: Staffing Ratios: Based on AWHONN guidelines Observed Holidays: Must work the full overnight shift before a holiday to qualify for holiday pay Scrub Color: Navy Blue COVID-19 & Flu Vaccine Requirements: COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required Flu Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious exemptions allowed) About the Facility: This Labor & Delivery unit is equipped with Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Unit Secretaries to ensure comprehensive obstetric care .
