Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/12/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Title: RN - OR Facility: Shannon Medical Center Shift: Day, 4x10-Hour (06:30 AM - 05:00 PM) Start Date: 12/01/2026 Assignment Length: 13 Weeks Certification and License Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is mandatory. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required; additional certifications such as ACLS and CNOR are preferred. Candidates must maintain all current certifications and licenses throughout the assignment. Job Description: Join the dynamic team at Shannon Medical Center as an RN in the Operating Room. This position offers a hybrid schedule with rotating shifts between 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a balanced work environment and opportunities for career growth. The OR RN will deliver exceptional patient care, assist with preoperative and postoperative procedures, and ensure operating room safety and compliance. You will work in a fast-paced setting that demands clinical excellence, flexibility, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive perioperative patient care, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative assistance, and postoperative recovery. - Assist surgical team with sterile procedures and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are prepared and accounted for. - Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. - Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards. - Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in compliance with hospital policies. - Collaborate with surgical team members, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Be flexible to handle call, holiday coverage, and emergency situations as needed. What You Bring: - Minimum of 5 years of OR nursing experience preferred. Strong background in specialties such as General, Neuro, Orthopedic, Trauma, and Robotics is highly desirable; candidates with less experience may be considered if they demonstrate proficiency in these areas. - Excellent critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. - Ability to adapt to rotating shift schedules and call/holiday coverage. Preferred Education & Experience: - Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). - Proven experience in perioperative nursing, particularly in specialties including neuro, ortho, trauma, and robotics. - Experience working in hospital OR settings with high procedural volumes.
