Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Brownwood, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,924 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Brownwood, Texas, 76801! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in the service line required. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience. - Experience with a patient ratio of 5. - Travel experience required. - Community hospital experience preferred. Description: Start date on March 16 is strongly preferred. Candidates living at least 50 miles from the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis. The unit requires experience in short stay and pre/post hemodialysis management. Nurses will manage patients with renal failure and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs). Experience in medical/surgical telemetry is necessary. Nurses will use rapid response/code teams as needed. Knowledge in colostomy/ileostomy management and feeding tube care and management is expected. Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) experience is required. Candidates must be proficient in accessing/managing ports and blood product administration. Skills related to central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, and PICC line management are essential. Candidates should be able to start and maintain IVs, manage heparin, insulin, and PCA. Candidates must be equipped to handle cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs) and mood disorders. Experience with orthopedic trauma and total joint replacements is preferred. Familiarity with managing surgical drains, chest tubes, and BiPAP/CPAP maintenance is necessary. Nurses will be responsible for high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and nasal cannula oxygen administration. Isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) knowledge are important. Wound care and wound vac experience is required. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various healthcare services. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. Daily census range is between 10-13 patients. Caring for a variety of patient diagnoses such as post-operative cases, diabetes, pneumonia, and wound care is expected. Scheduling includes a requirement for weekend coverage with an expected number of weekend shifts. Candidate availability for completion of required lab items within 72 hours of accepting an offer is essential.
