Registered Nurse (RN) | Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op Location: Midland, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,362 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2 Years Preferred License: Active License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Must-Have: - Experience recovering patients from various surgical procedures except cardiac surgeries. - Experience with pediatric patients and critical care is strongly preferred. - Experience with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines. Description: Start date within the next 3-5 weeks is preferred. Call is required. Candidate must have experience recovering patients post-surgery across multiple specialties, including plastics, urology, dental, and gynecology. Experience with pre-operative coverage is required. Previous charge experience is a plus. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients’ vital signs and administering medications as necessary. Candidates should have the ability to recognize and manage dysrhythmias. Experience with blood product administration and management of central lines is essential. Knowledge of narcotic and opioid analgesics, as well as reversal agents, is needed. Understanding of caring for ventilated patients and procedures for conscious sedation is expected. Nurses will perform thorough pain assessments and management. Ability to manage a PCA pump and evaluate RASS (Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale) results is required. Experience with various surgical procedures such as tonsillectomy, cholecystectomy, colon surgery, and hysterectomy is necessary. Familiarity with pre and post-operative procedures is an asset. Candidates should be comfortable with wound care, isolation precautions, and the interpretation of lab values. All necessary competencies for working in a PACU are required.
