Performs advanced (senior-level) food preparation work. Work
involves overseeing and planning the preparation, seasoning, and
cooking of food; monitoring inventories and records of food
consumption; and making recommendations for improvement. May plan,
assign, and/or supervise the work of others. Works under limited
supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative
and independent judgment. Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a
specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule,
extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave
policy and performs other duties as assigned
Oversees the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of food
according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or
Oversees the inspection of food preparations and work areas to
ensure sanitary conditions.
Oversees staff in setting up serving lines and serving of food
Oversees and evaluates the testing of formulas and standardized
Checks and tastes food during preparation for conformance to

Reviews and recommends changes to cooking and kitchen operations

solutions; and to plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of
