If you do not live in San Angelo, please visit your local Workforce Solutions and have them email your typing results to: NOTE:Testing must be passed prior to position closing.GENERAL PURPOSE: Under general supervision, processes reports and other legal information and documents for the San Angelo Police Department (SAPD); enters data in automated records management systems; provides information within scope of authority.DUTIES: Performs basic clerical and administrative duties in accordance with SAPD procedures and City policy, including data entry, record keeping, and maintaining files. Receives, verifies and enters SAPD data into database systems; copies and distributes reports. Provides information and assistance to the public and others having business with SAPD within scope of authority; may collect fees and issue permits, and balance cash drawers. Processes reports, documents and forms; reviews documents and data for compliance and accuracy. Maintains the absolute confidentiality of all records and information. Other related duties as required. Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.MINIMUM STANDARDS & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; and one year of clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of a background investigation and polygraph is required. Required knowledge of: City policies and procedures. Basic regulations governing the release of information from law enforcement agency records. Required skill in: Maintaining accurate records. Entering information into a computer system with speed and accuracy. Work is performed in a standard office environment.
